The order concluded by threatening to hold Bexar County District Clerk Mary Angie Garcia in contempt of court is she did not replace two clerks assigned to his court by Monday. Castro had requested the transfer earlier, according to Garcia. We would do what we had to do,ā Garcia said. āWeāre just trying to make it a smooth operational office,ā Garcia said.

Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales said Friday that the order, which closed vehicle access points at beaches within the county, will end on Monday, according to multiple reports. The newspaper reported that the modified order will restrict access to areas of beaches damaged by Hurricane Hanna. The order was put in place in July as the county asked tourists to stay home for the sake of social distancing. He said enforcing the order ādepleted all of our overtime budgetsā in providing 24-hour policing.

The order which was expected to be lifted on April 14 was extended by county officials on Monday. āThe next three weeks are going to be critical for us,ā Austin Public Health Interim Health Authority Dr. Mark Escott said, according to KXAN. āWhat weāre trying to do is buy time. Buy time for more PPE, buy time for more testing capabilities ā¦ and to ultimately buy time for two of the most critical components of this, effective treatment and vaccinations.āCounties in San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston are currently under stay-at-home orders through April 30.

The order for residents goes into effect at 11 p.m. Thursday and remains in effect until 4 a.m. April 10. āIssued on March 25 by Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra, the order mandates that all individuals currently living within Hays County remain at home unless performing essential functions, such as certain necessary jobs and essential government functions," a statement from the city reads. Health care businesses, grocery stores, hardware stores, news media, gas stations, restaurants offering to-go and/or food delivery, and many other essential businesses will not have to close. People providing electrical, plumbing and other essential services can continue to work, as can those who work from home.
