Patty Mills arrives at his fourth Olympic Games as Australia’s old man.

Basketball star Lauren Jackson will compete at her fifth Olympics after being selected in Australia’s 12-player squad just three months after again coming out of retirement.

Klay Thompson scored 28 points, Jonathan Kuminga added 18 and the Golden State Warriors pulled away in the second half to beat the still-shorthanded Miami Heat 113-92.

The NBA released the full 2021-22 regular season schedule on Friday and San Antonio is set to open the new campaign at home against Orlando.

The action on Day 13 of the Tokyo Games will feature track and field, with medals in the men’s 400-meter final, the men’s and women’s 4x100 relays and the women’s 400 meters.

There were 49 NBA players at the Tokyo Games when the Olympics started.

News broke Tuesday afternoon that beloved San Antonian Patty Mills is leaving the Spurs and signing with the Brooklyn Nets.

It’s the end of an era as Patty Mills, the longest tenured Spurs player, is headed to Brooklyn. Mills is reportedly set to sign a 2-year deal with the Nets worth $12 million, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Mills is leaving San Antonio after 10 seasons with the franchise. Mills was the last remaining player on the Spurs 2014 championship team and the squad that made back-to-back NBA Finals in the mid-2010s.

For the first time in years, the San Antonio Spurs are flush with cash as NBA free agency officially begins Monday afternoon.

They see her as a leader and simply as Coach Hammon. “One of the reasons why I decided to take the job was because I was going to inherit Becky Hammon,” said Collen. San Antonio reportedly traded for forward Marquese Chriss, however, the third-year player was injured earlier this year and has been ruled out for the season. San Antonio sent Cady Lalanne, a 2015 second-round draft pick, to the Warriors and received some cash compensation.

The positive test and resultant contact tracing meant San Antonio did not having the “league-required eight available players to proceed” with the game as scheduled. SAN ANTONIO – With the NBA Draft and free agency around the corner, the Spurs trade rumor mill is in overdrive. DeMar DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge and stalwart guard Patty Mills have all been linked to possible deals with other teams. If DeRozan wants a new deal, he can do a sign-and-trade with the Spurs and another team. It’s been reported that the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks have expressed interest in trading for Mills. NBA free agency starts on Nov. 20.

SAN ANTONIO – In 2019, there were 21 family violence-related murders in San Antonio. The city has publicly prioritized domestic violence this year to deal with this raging epidemic. The division has put together the first Domestic Violence Symposium ever hosted by the City of San Antonio. “In public health, we know the risks of diabetes, we know the risks of heart attacks, but do we know the risks for domestic violence? One of San Antonios most well-known coffee connoisseurs and advocates for locally owned coffee shops is Spurs guard Patty Mills. Mills started the famed Spurs Coffee Gang as a way to bond with teammates on the road or at home. With the help of eight local coffee shops, Mills organized the Give Mama Coffee Campaign on Mothers Day. SAN ANTONIO Gregg Popovich discussed a myriad of topics, from race to social injustice to reparations, on Saturday afternoon during his first media session from the Spurs hotel in Orlando, Fla. The Spurs are part of the 22 teams that will participate in the resumption of the NBA season in late July. He believes the NBA can use this opportunity to put race and social injustice at the forefront of a national discussion. The exact amount, Mills said, for the Spurs' eight remaining regular-season, or seeding, games will be $1,017,818.54. Mills isn't the only player that has announced he will be donating his salary for the eight games to charity. Mills is the longest currently tenured player on the Spurs. This is not the first time Mills has tried to shine a light on race-related issues this season. Mills was to have earned about $12.5 million this season, had the season not been interrupted and some games been canceled because of the pandemic.

Trey Lyles had 20 points and the Spurs overcame a shaky fourth quarter to beat Orlando 114-113 on Saturday night, snapping the Magic’s three-game winning streak. “They don’t tell you how you won, they just show how many you got,” San Antonio guard Derrick White said. San Antonio led by as many as 16 points in snapping a two-game skid but came within seconds of another defeat. The Magic outscored the Spurs 60-53 in the second half to overcome a dismal start. … The Magic swept the season series against the Spurs last season but have lost 16 of 21 overall and nine of 11 in San Antonio.

They only have 26 games left and for the moment, they need to make up 3 1/2 games on the Memphis Grizzlies. “It’s a massive game for us tomorrow [Wednesday], and hopefully that can kick start a good home stretch," Spurs guard Patty Mills said. We don’t have a lot of time left, so we have to be ready to go from the jump," Spurs guard Derrick White said. We got to go out, we got to just compete and play hard as a team,” Spurs guard Dejounte Murray said. “It was a satisfying trip, personally, and it was only that because we were able to make a positive impact for other people that were in desperate need,” Mills said.

The ball went out of bounds on a scramble after the missed free throw, and San Antonio kept the ball after a replay review. Mills led the Spurs with 26 points.
