Read full article: SA Spirits: Dallas-based distillery to open first tasting room in downtown SASAN ANTONIO ā Devils River Whiskey has been available at bars and liquor stores since 2017, but the president of the Dallas-based distillery is getting ready to open his first tasting room in San Antonio. "I went to the Devils River back in college and just thought it was a beautiful, really neat place," Cameron said. "To make good whiskey requires good water," Cameron said. The first product Devils River Whisky produced was a bourbon, followed by a rye. A percentage of the sale of each bottle of whiskey goes towards conserving the Devils River.

It was the first combined brewery and distillery in the state and is Texas to the core. It's located on San Antonio's Northeast Side, but named after Ranger Creek Road in Boerne. Miller said part of the experience at Ranger Creek is getting to know what Texas spirits and beer are all about and how they are created. āI think a lot of people will tell you, 'Donāt take a hobby and turn it into a business,'ā Miller said.
