Schools in the Class 1A - 4A bracket will restart practices on August 3, while Class 5A and 6A schools begin on September 7. It is unclear exactly how this will impact their season schedule. Schools are now required by the TEA to develop a means of mitigating the transmission of COVID-19 among the student body. If they have any symptoms, they must report them to their school on a specific document.

TAPPS activities are set to begin with a return to practice on September 8, followed by matches for Volleyball beginning on September 21. In upholding the mission and vision of the organization, TAPPS offers its member schools and students the opportunities that interscholastic competition provides. TAPPS continues to monitor local, state and national conditions reserving the opportunity to amend the plans as situations dictate.

First year Steele head football coach, David Saenz Jr., said that fall sports are depending on summer strength and conditioning sessions to operate smoothly. But again, our number one priority is the health and safety of every individual that is on our campus.Stipulations for summer workouts include social distancing 10 feet while active and six feet while at rest in addition to disinfecting equipment. Its also recommended that schools screen their student-athletes for COVID-19 symptoms on paper or with temperature checks at the start of every week of summer workouts, with students self-screening daily. Ron Rittimann, who was named the Alamo Heights head football coach and athletic director in February, said the districts student athletes have been learning the right way to condition this offseason.

But even with 17 combined titles since the turn of the millennium, Antonian enters the 2019 TAPPS Cross Country state championships wanting more, and they have the talent to get it done. Another huge benefit for the Apaches is their wealth of experience on the race course in Waco, where the TAPPS Championships have been held in each of the past four seasons. "I know what I have to go out and do to be able to help carry the team," junior Myrella Rodriguez echoed. Antonian will compete in the 2019 TAPPS Championships at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco on Monday morning.
