The San Antonio Police Department and Crime Stoppers of San Antonio is seeking the public’s assistance to help identify a person involved in an aggravated robbery. The robbery occurred on Feb. 13 at a Valero gas station at 103 Bandera Road. Police said a Valero employee was working when he was confronted by an individual who pulled a gun and demanded money from the register. SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are still trying to find out who shot a man and where the shooting happened. The wounded man turned up Tuesday night at a gas station near Interstate 37 and SE Military. Police say he was suffering from a gunshot wound in his arm, but had fashioned his own tourniquet. However, before they could get any information from the man, they say he jumped back into his car and drove himself to a hospital. Investigators hope to interview the man later to find out more information about the shooting.

Toby Baker, the executive director of the TCEQ, said the agency’s effort to add mobile air monitoring capacity was in motion before the EPA OIG report, but acknowledged that Hurricane Harvey was a turning point for environmental regulators. “We learned some lessons with Hurricane Harvey,” Baker said. Tuesday’s announcement was held in Houston’s Manchester neighborhood at Hartman Park, next to Valero’s Houston Refinery, where a storage tank notoriously collapsed during Hurricane Harvey — one of the unmonitored pollution events during the storm. The extent of the emissions released by chemical plants, refineries and other industrial operators along the Gulf Coast during and after Hurricane Harvey is unknown due to the lag in air monitoring, according to the EPA report.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Businesses may be closed due to the coronavirus pandemic but traffic congestion still took over an area just east of downtown Friday morning. The miles-long stream of cars was headed to the Alamodome for the San Antonio Food Bank’s latest mega food distribution event. San Antonio Food Bank sees largest crowd yet for drive-thru distributionA spokesman for the food bank said about 2,000 people had preregistered for the drive-thru giveaway. During Friday’s distribution, 2,000 families received 100 pounds of food and a $20 Valero fuel card, the company said.

SAN ANTONIO – A cashier at a Valero gas station experienced a scary ordeal overnight after police say a robber brandished a gun and demanded money from the cash register. The incident occurred just before midnight at a Valero gas station in the 1200 block of Austin Highway, not far from Rittiman Road on the city’s Northeast Side. According to police, the robber entered the store and pointed a gun at the cashier’s face while demanding money. Police said the cashier gave the robber the cash drawer, who then immediately fled the scene. So far, no arrests have been made in the case.

SAN ANTONIO – Arson investigators are looking for the driver of a car that caught fire dangerously close to gas pumps at a gas station near downtown. It was parked right next to a gas pump at the time at QuikTrip, located in the 300 block of San Pedro Avenue. The gas pump where the fire started was reduced to a mound of melted plastic. To avoid a potential explosion during the fire, workers at the gas station did an emergency shutdown of all the pumps. An employee told KSAT 12 News he was unsure when the pumps will be turned on again because they will have to be inspected first.

SAN ANTONIO – A driver pulled up to South Side gas station and saw the outside of a closed convenience store on fire, the San Antonio Fire Department said Thursday. The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. at a Valero gas station in the 3200 block of Commercial Avenue, not far from Pleasanton Road. Firefighters said when they arrived, they found the side of the building on fire by some trees and trash. Authorities said they believe someone was camping on the side of the store. Arson investigators have been called in to investigate the “suspicious fire.”The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all originally answered the call.
