Officers were called around 11 p.m. to the Latana Apartments in the 4600 block of Vance Jackson Road, not far from Jackson Keller Road and Loop 410 after receiving word of a shooting. According to police, the victim, 33, was outside of his apartment and walking with three men when an argument ensued. He began to climb up to his apartment above as the suspect kept shooting, striking him in the arm. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call.

According to police, Christian Alexis Cazares, 24, was driving in the eastbound lanes of the access road when he jumped a curb and hit a homeless man sleeping under a bridge. The homeless man, however, was pronounced dead at the scene. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call. The name of the man killed has not been released.

The pilot program brings San Antonio police, city services, Solid Waste Management and nonprofits to the streets where they work with homeless individuals to guide them toward services. The city is considering expanding similar outreach groups to all San Antonio districts as the Department of Human Services Homeless Street Outreach Team. 11 homeless outreach teams for San Antonio proposed for FY 2021On Thursday, District 8 will host a Homelessness Virtual Town Hall from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The panel will include SAPD SAFFE officers, Haven for Hope and City of San Antonio Department of Human Services.
