A San Antonio police officer and some San Antonio firefighters were lucky to avoid serious injury following a vehicle crash that involved a fire truck and a patrol car early Friday morning.

SAN ANTONIO – A driver is facing possible charges of intoxication assault after San Antonio police say he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree at a high rate of speed overnight. The crash happened around 1:48 a.m., Saturday, in the 16500 block of Henderson Pass. Both the driver and the passenger were taken to Central Baptist Hospital for treatment of injuries. The driver is facing possible charges of intoxication assault and police say he is under the suspicion of alcohol. SAN ANTONIO – A driver was killed in a head-on vehicle crash between a Mustang and a sport utility vehicle late Tuesday night. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the driver as Gilberto Trevino, 25. According to police, just after 9 p.m. Trevino lost control of his vehicle in the 6900 block of Culebra Road and drove over the median and crashed into the SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of SUV was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries.
