SAN ANTONIO – A man was hit by an 18-wheeler on eastbound Loop 410 near Ingram Road early Thursday morning.
San Antonio police said the man was attempting to cross the lanes when he was struck by the big rig on Loop 410 near Alamo Downs Parkway.
The man was transported to University Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The driver of the 18-wheeler stopped to render aid. Shortly before 6:30 a.m., SAPD officers allowed the driver of the 18-wheeler to leave the scene.
The eastbound lanes of Loop 410 were closed as emergency crews worked. The lanes reopened sometime around 9 a.m.
