Man hit, killed by vehicle while crossing Loop 410 identified by medical examiner

Crash happened around 4 a.m. near Blanco/Military Castle Hills exit

A 44-year-old man who was hit and killed by a vehicle on a North Side highway earlier this week has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner.

Liem Thanh Nguyen died from blunt force injuries he sustained in the incident, the ME said.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. Monday on Loop 410 eastbound, near the Blanco/Military Castle Hills exit.

Police said the driver who hit Nguyen stopped to help him after the crash. No other injuries were reported.

A man was hit and killed by a vehicle while attempting to cross a North Side highway early Monday morning, according to Castle Hills police.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. on Loop 410 eastbound, near the Blanco/Military Castle Hills exit.

According to police, the man for an unknown reason was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by a vehicle. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver of the vehicle did stop to render aid. There were no reports of any other injuries.

The crash has since affected traffic and vehicles are being forced into one lane, the left-hand lane. Traffic is slow moving as emergency crews work at the scene.

The name and age of the man killed are not currently known.
