Highway 281 South reopened around 12:40 p.m.

An 18-wheeler jackknifed Friday morning on Highway 281 South near the Quarry, causing police to shut down the highway.
The big rig lost its rear axle during the crash.
A Transguide camera showed traffic being forced to exit at Sunset Road.
Texas Department of Transportation officials said the highway may reopen around 2 p.m.
Maintenance crews estimate having southbound US 281 reopened by 2 p.m. Find alternate routes if you can.

Traffic was also slow on Highway 281 North in the area.
