SWIMMING: Great Hearts Monte Vista girls dominate UIL Class 4A State; Poupart, Olson, Johnson earn podium finishes

History was made at the first UIL Class 4A Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday morning, and thanks to incredible performances from junior Valeria Ivanov Gomez and senior Maddie Mealey, the Great Hearts Monte Vista girls team claimed the program’s first team state title. On the boys side, senior Zachary Poupart struck gold in the 200 IM, while Davenport junior Dane Olson earned silver in the 500 Freestyle and Boerne senior Henry Johnson took bronze in the 100 Backstroke.
