La Vernia ISD approves pilot program for four-day workweek

Three-day weekends will be the norm this fall at La Vernia ISD as part of a new three-year pilot program, which the school board unanimously approved Monday night. Several potential draft calendars are under consideration, which would affect the district's start date and holiday schedule. LVISD is also working out how long its school days might be. The district has said it could extend its school hours by 45 minutes. Harlandale ISD says it is also exploring the idea of going to a 4-day week.
