BOERNE, Texas – The storms that dumped heavy rain across South Texas Thursday morning left behind a considerable amount of flooding in Boerne.
As of 11:30 a.m., about a dozen roads were closed because of high water around the town.
The Boerne Fire Department said it has not received any calls for high-water rescues as drivers seem to be heeding the warning of "turn around, don't drown."
Welder Jerad Hernandez said he stayed home from work Thursday after he saw water rising quickly in a nearby creek.
"I got up and this was about 3 inches deep, and all of a sudden this big wall of water came and it was 2-and-a-half feet deep," Hernandez said.
KSAT 12 Digital Journalist Chris Shadrock said Boerne police have blocked off several roads, including Old San Antonio Road and Highway 46 at the Herff Road/Esser Road intersection.
Shadrock reports that the water in Cibolo Creek in downtown Boerne has risen and has flooded portions of the trail.
