Wet weather school closures, other delays

SAN ANTONIO – Multiple school districts have announced on Thursday that they will either be delayed or canceled altogether as a result of the wet weather. Here's the latest:

12 p.m. UPDATE: All Judson ISD after school activities have been canceled for today, Thursday (5-19-16.)  Early pickup of student is permitted.

11:40 a.m. UPDATE: Due to the weather conditions today, Gonzales ISD will release at 2 p.m. If you need to pick up your child prior to that time for safety reasons, the absence will be excused.

The district is also touring bus routing locations. If any bus route is considered unsafe, parents/guardians will be contacted to pick up your child due to safety reasons.

In addition, tomorrow (May 20) Gonzales ISD will have a 2 hour delay start time.

9 a.m. UPDATE: The Northside ISD reports the flood gates on Toutant Beauregard leading to McAndrew Elementary are closed, but all students are inside and safe. 

There is no access in or out of the school at this time. NISD Police is working closely with Bexar County Sheriff's Office and is monitoring the weather. The principal is in direct communication with all parents.

From Bandera ISD's Facebook page: BISD excuses weather related absences and tardies, and understands that due to the area of our large county, some parents may choose to delay their child's arrival at school or keep them home. 

Bracken Christian School has canceled classes for today, according to the school's Facebook page.

The Medina Independent School has announced they have canceled classes on Thursday. 

Gonzales Independent School District will be on a two hour delay.

Comal Independent School District also has announced that they will be closed Thursday due to the weather conditions.

City of Kerrville: Due to recent heavy rains and flooding at the Third Creek Crossing, the landfill/transfer station is temporarily closed. 

The Olmos Park Basin gates have been closed.

The City of Boerne was also hit hard by heavy rain. Here is a link of road closures there.
