A cold front will drape across South Texas late Monday afternoon, sinking further south throughout the night and drenching the area with between 2 and 4 inches of rain.

Isolated totals could reach up to 7 inches in some areas, and there is a slight risk for wind gusts up to 60 mph and isolated pockets of hail.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch from 4 p.m. Monday through Tuesday morning for Bexar County and the following counties:

Atascosa, Bandera, Blanco, Caldwell, Comal, Fayette, Frio, Gillespie, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Wilson and Zavala.

Small streams, creeks, low water crossings, and some rivers may experience dangerous flash flooding. Never drive across a road covered by water.

KSAT Meteorologist Adam Caskey said a flash flood watch means conditions are favorable for flash flooding, but it's not happening at the moment. A warning means it's actually occurring.

REMEMBER: Turn around, don't drown!

Tuesday morning, Adam Caskey said there is still a possibility of rain, and the primary threat will be residual flash flooding in the early morning.
