Record-high: San Antonio surpasses 86-year-old heat record

The high of 95 degrees beat the daily heat record of 93 degrees set in 1909 and 1936

Tuesday, the thermometer reached 95 degrees at the San Antonio Airport, beating the record of 93° set back in 1909 and 1936.

The average high for April 5 in San Antonio is 79 degrees.

But it won’t stay hot for long. A cool front Wednesday morning will bring wind gusts from the north at up to 40 mph, and knock highs back down to near 80° for the remainder of Fiesta.
