As storms with heavy rainfall moved through San Antonio on Thursday morning, a brief tornado was caught on camera near Interstate 35 and Highway 281. It caused morning commuters to come to a full stop along the busy interstate.
A KSAT employee and KSAT Connect users reported seeing the tornado, but thankfully only minor damage is being reported. The radar showed a brief spin-up in the area.
A post sent out on X -- formerly known as Twitter -- from Joint Base San Antonio confirmed a brief, weak tornado touched down on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston. No injuries are reported in that area, but some minor damage to trees and vehicles have been observed.
