NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATIONS

Less wind than earlier today and cool with temperature dropping into the upper 40s by midnight, then settling near 40° by sunrise tomorrow morning.

SEASONABLE START 2025

Wednesday through Saturday will feature an increase in clouds and seasonable temperatures. Mornings in the 40s followed by afternoon highs in the low to mid 60s will be the norm. By Sunday, temperatures will reach the 70s, before a noticeable cold front arrives Sunday night and dropping temperatures into next week.

WHAT ABOUT THOSE RUMORS OF ARCTIC AIR?

You’re going to see plenty on social media about an arctic blast next week. Yes, there will be an arctic outbreak across the United States, but DON’T equate this to February of 2021 for Texas. It’s still a long term forecast with a high degree of uncertainty, so be sure to check back frequently for updates.

That said, as of now we’re expecting mornings around freezing and afternoon highs possibly as cool as 40° for a day or two. The big wild card is a slight chance of wintry precipitation sometime between January 8th and 10th. That’s only if conditions come together in an exact way, and those forecasts are highly unreliable this far out. While an extended period of freezing temperatures is unlikely, folks in the Hill Country with exposed pipes should be prepared to take the necessary precautions - just in case.
