SAN ANTONIO – Chances for severe weather will decrease after Wednesday morning, but a few scattered thunderstorms will still be possible Wednesday afternoon and again Thursday and Friday.

KSAT 12 Meteorologist Mike Osterhage says plenty of rain is still falling around the area. He says the severe threat has passed, but we will still have showers and storms today, although scattered. More rain is in the forecast for tomorrow and Friday, but then the weather should clear for the weekend.

The National Weather Service says to expect scattered showers and thunderstorms developing generally west of Highway 281.
More showers are expected Wednesday between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Some storms could become severe with large hail and damaging winds possible. Heavy downpours of 1 to 2 inches will be possible in a few areas by late this evening.
The focus for thunderstorm development will shift east and closer to I-35 corridor late this evening.
An upper level low pressure system will be digging south from the west coast and moving into South Texas over the next few days.

Meteorologist Adam Caskey says strong to severe storms are likely across South Texas Tuesday night as a dynamic weather pattern takes shape.
A few isolated storms could develop Tuesday afternoon, but most of the action is expected to hold off until Tuesday night.
The primary threats are straight line winds of 60-70 mph and large hail up to the size of golf balls.
The storms will likely form in clusters throughout Tuesday night then come to an end before sunrise on Wednesday.
