A teacher in the Harlandale Independent School District was arrested early Wednesday on a DWI charge.
Veronica Aguero, 34, was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, according to online jail records.
She was being held in the Bexar County Jail on bail totalling $5,500.
The DWI charge is the second for Aguero, according to online jail records.
Aguero is a fourth-grader teacher at Morrill Elementary School, according to the district's website.
The district released the following statement regarding Aguero's arrest:
"Today the district received a report of possible inappropriate conduct by a district employee. As required by law, the district reported the information to the appropriate state education agencies. Because of the sensitive nature of these allegations and out of respect for the employee's privacy, further comment will not be made. The well-being of all Harlandale ISD students is paramount. The district takes these matters seriously and will cooperate in any investigation."
