SAN ANTONIO – The Alamo Colleges Board of Trustees has named Dr. R. Michael Flores as the sixth president of Palo Alto College.
Flores replaces Dr. Ana M. "Cha" Guzman who left to be the President of Santa Fe Community College in New Mexico.

Flores, 42, has held various positions at Palo Alto College since 1999. Most recently, he served as Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs.
He was chosen from a nationwide search of 28 applicants, and is the first president to come from within the ranks of Palo Alto College.
"I am honored by the opportunity to serve as Palo Alto College President," Flores said in a press release. "I'm looking forward to engaging students, faculty and staff in working together to provide educational access and opportunity to south San Antonio, Bexar County and surrounding communities."
Palo Alto College has nearly 9,000 students and is located on San Antonio's South Side.
