Family of man killed in hit-and-run wants justice

Robert DeLeon, 61, hit while leaving bar on South Gevers

SAN ANTONIO – The family of a man killed in a hit-and-run wants justice for their loved one and wants the person responsible found.

According to family, Robert DeLeon, 61, was leaving a bar in the 2200 block of South Gevers Street when he was hit in November.          

The driver of the vehicle never stopped to render aid.

"I don't think anybody can rest well until there is some justice. It's that closure part. Just knowing that there’s somebody out there that did this, I don't think any of us are going to give up," said Jennifer Ramirez, DeLeon's niece.

DeLeon’s memory lives on through loved ones. He's remembered as the life of the party.

"He was funny. He was very generous. He didn't have a mean bone in his body. He got along with everybody he knew," Ramirez said.

San Antonio police are asking anyone with information in the DeLeon's death to come forward. Tipsters are asked call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7867.
