SAN ANTONIO – Nearly 1,000 University of Texas at San Antonio undergraduate students on Thursday showcased the research projects they've been working on.
The students were from nine different departments, and their projects covered a wide array of academic and scientific fields.
Topics ranged from the evolution of autism, to Shakespeare's sonnets and politics.
Andrew Tobias presented his work on trying to find better treatment for prostate cancer.

“What I am doing is taking prostate cancer and making it chemotherapy-resistant,” he said. "Then I’m using a treatment we've developed to kill the cancer to prove that our treatment has the ability to kill cancer even if it's chemotherapy-resistant."
The students' projects were judged on how well they were presented.
Students received critiques and help to build their resumes.
