SAN ANTONIO – The reward for a violent sex offender from San Antonio has been increased to $8,000, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Robert Bryan Chrismon, 53, is the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender list and is the featured fugitive of February. He is wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration and parole violation.

DPS said Chrismon has ties to San Antonio and has worked as a general laborer. His criminal history includes aggravated rape, aggravated assault, kidnapping and escape.
He was sentenced to 55 years in 1981 for the kidnapping and aggravated rape of a San Antonio teenage girl, DPS said. Chrismon received an additional 10 years for the attempted stabbing of a Corpus Christi police officer during an arrest.
DPS said Chrismon and three other inmates escaped a Texas prison in 1986 and fled on horseback. He was caught a short time later and given another five years in prison for the escape. He was paroled in 2012 and fled to San Antonio, DPS said.
Chrismon is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has a scorpion tattoo on his right arm, a scar on his chest and additional scars on both wrists, DPS said.
DPS said Chrismon should be considered armed and dangerous.
