Woman arrested after allegedly slapping, choking 7-year-old girl

Elaine Clemons, 29, is charged with injury to a child

SAN ANTONIO – A local woman has been arrested after slapping and choking a 7-year-old girl, leaving the child with 2 black eyes, an arrest affidavit said.

Elaine Clemons, 29, is charged with injury to a child.

According to an arrest affidavit, another family member reported the assault to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, saying that Clemons threw the child to the floor on Sept. 15 and slapped and choked her.

The affidavit said Clemons thought the child had thrown a piece of paper at her.

The victim said Clemons cussed at her and slapped her at first then began choking her to the point where she felt like she was going to pass out.

A witness said Clemons also grabbed the child by her hair. The witness begged her to stop but Clemons just said that "all of the marks would be gone tomorrow".

The affidavit said the victim told deputies it wasn't the first time Clemons did this. She said in the past, Clemons also whipped her with a belt on her arms and legs.
